Advanced Master Course in Structural Analysis of Monuments and Historical Constructions

Applications for the Advanced Masters in Structural Analysis of Monuments and Historical Constructions, approved and financially sponsored by the European Commission within the framework of the Erasmus+ Programme, are opened up to January 20, 2015.

This Master Course is organized by a Consortium of leading European Universities/Research Institutions in the field, composed by University of Minho (coordinating institution, Portugal), the Technical University of Catalonia (Spain), the Czech Technical University in Prague (Czech Republic), the University of Padua (Italy) and the Institute of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics of the Czech Academy of Sciences (Czech Republic). The course combines the most recent advances in research and development with practical applications.

A significant number of scholarships, ranging from 4,000 to 25,000 Euro, are available to students of any nationality.

The Consortium is also available to provide International Fellowships to outstanding non-European Scholars for teaching and research activities for a period of up to three months.

XIV Semana de la ciencia: Jornada-Mesa Redonda del MUR «LA CIENCIA EN LA REHABILITACIÓN ARQUITECTÓNICA»

En el marco de La Semana de la Ciencia de la Comunidad de Madrid, se incluye esta Jornada cuyo tema es: “La Ciencia y la Rehabilitación Arquitectónica: Conocimiento e Innovación”. Los ponentes abordarán, desde sus respectivos campos científicos, los diferentes enfoques que se le puede dar al trabajo en Rehabilitación.

Se concluirá con una Mesa Redonda en la que se comentará, desde distintos puntos de vista, sobre la participación de la ciencia en el quehacer arquitectónico.

Journal of Engineering and Architecture is an international peer-reviewed journal. The journal is not limited to a specific aspect of engineering and architecture but is instead devoted to a wide range of subfields in the engineering sciences and architecture. Articles of interdisciplinary nature are particularly welcome. The journal strives to maintain high quality of publications. There will be a commitment to expediting the time taken for the publication of the papers. The editorial board reserves the right to reject papers without sending them out for review. The journal also publishes innovative contributions on every aspect of architectural endeavor.
The journal is published by the American Research Institute for Policy Development that serves as a focal point for academicians, professionals, graduate and undergraduate students, fellows, and associates pursuing research throughout the world.
The interested contributors are highly encouraged to submit their manuscripts/papers to the executive editor via e-mail at editor@aripd.org. José Luis Alonso Ponga ha cesado como Patrono al no poder compatibilizar este curso su labor como tal por estar disfrutando estos meses de un año sabático.

Conferencia en el centenario del edificio de la Diputación de Palencia

La Diputación de Palencia celebra el centenario del edificio proyectado por Jerónimo Arroyo con una exposición que describe la historia del Palacio Provincial, celebración que se completa con la realización de una serie de conferencias sobre temas relacionados con este asunto en el que hemos sido invitados a participar analizando la trayectoria profesional de Antonio Font de Bedoya, uno de los arquitectos que intervino sobre el mismo.

La restauración de la tapia en la Península Ibérica, coordinada por los profesores de  la Universidad Politécnica de Valencia Camilla Mileto y Fernando Vegas.

José Manuel López Osorio, arquitecto y profesor en la Universidad de Málaga, nos envía el Catálogo de la Exposición Cinco miradas cruzadas sobre el Valle del Mgoun, editado, entre otros, por el Ministerio de Asuntos Exteriores y Cooperación.

Hortensia Larrén, arqueóloga territorial de Zamora, nos ha entregado la obra, coordinada por ella, Bienes culturales de la Provincia de Zamora.
